OSBORNE and MOFOZ LIVE ART collabo at Asher Roth/Kid Cudi Afterparty

Kid Cudi/Asher Roth Afterparty at Stubbs in Austin TX presented by Austin360.com and C3.

The homies Phranchyze and Zeale will be performing following the Kid Cudi and Asher Roth show at Stubbs on July 30th.
Phranchyze will be backed by a live band called Black Rodeo who are pretty damn awesome, so it will definitely be a show you dont wanna miss.
Also on the bill is Shashamani Soundsystem who is a great reggae DJ from Oakland , he played an event for us during SXSW at the FIFTH GALLERY and was one of our favorites (you can pick up his music locally at THE FIFTH GALLERY).

Rick Osborne of Hypnotized Monkey and Marc of Mofoz Visualz and Rick Osborne will also collaborate on a live art piece at the Kid Cudi/Asher Roth afterparty, as they promote Osborne's upcoming solo show that opens Saturday at the gallery.

..this show is the place to be.

Ticket holders of the Kid Cudi Show get in for free.

Fifth Gallery at KIXPO 2009

Big ups to the Deadstock crew for throwing another great event in KIXPO 2009!

This was our third year showcasing at the event-each year seems to get better...although this year the show seemed a little smaller in respect that only the main room was used in the great venue that is LIFE (art gallery) in Deep Ellum, I noticed missing from this year also was the graffiti expo that they had last year, but honestly, most of the action is inside anyways, so Im guessing most goers didn't notice too much.

The sneaker expo also helped to provide money and new sneakers for a charity that helps to give sneakers to orphans and those that are in need of shoes---and by the looks of it some of these kids thanks to the help of KIXPO will be geared up and walking real nice.

All of these pictures were taken during the first 15 minutes of the show, we were busy representing Mofoz Visualz and THE FIFTH GALLERY at our booth, and the high traffic and attendance made it pretty hard for us to get out and shoot flicks.

KIXPO is also famous for their awesome raffle prizes...about literally a billion of them. We spent 5 dollars on tickets-5 tickets and won twice! We came away with a tee, a skateboard deck, a poster, and a pair of Vans x Crooks and Castles kicks.
The prizes ranged from tees, to cd's, to sneakers, skateboards, fitteds, gift certificates...everything, with the tope prize being a FUTURA signed Limited sneaker (approximately over $800 kicks) ..that the GRAFWURKS crew went home with...anyways-enjoy the pics.

The sneaker themed cupcakes were on sale to raise money for sneakers for orphans

NEW ARRIVALS: MAXIMUMROCKNROLL

MAXIMUMROCKNROLL #315 • August 20Cover 315

The August issue of MRR features an extensive interview with the all-time classic Midwestern hardcore band the ZERO BOYS, as well as a piece on early New York City art punkers COME ON. There’s an interview with ETACARINAE, from Barcelona, Spain, who plays heavy hardcore with a Japanese influence, plus another with INSOMNIO, from Zaragoza Spain, who plays dark, melodic hardcore with a hint of Greg Sage’s WIPERS. We’ve got Bay Area hardcore covered with two East Bay favorites: the heavy hitting SKIN LIKE IRON, and the female-fronted fastcore of PUNCH. Mississippi garage misanthropes the BLACK AND WHITES are interviewed by the band LOVER! And we’ve got a feature on the mystery bedroom sounds of the BLANK DOGS, along with Portland crust heroes RESIST. There are also London, UK, and Brest, Belarus, scene reports along with the usual columns, and, as always, the most extensive review section in punk!

Dos Equis Official Update

Kheri Tillman wrote4 minutes ago
On behalf of Dos Equis, we would once again like to apologize and take full responsibility for the disorganization at our event this past Wednesday night.

Although we know it’s impossible to alleviate the frustration felt by all, whether you had to wait in line for hours or were turned away after finally getting there, we know we owe you an honest explanation.

In keeping with producing the most unique events for the brand we selected the Falkenstein castle location. We thought only a limited number of people might take the long drive out there on a Wednesday night. Therefore, we heavily promoted the event to ensure we filled the venue, which unfortunately resulted in a guest list far greater than the capacity of the venue. A crowd much larger than we were prepared to handle, showed up at both the Austin bus pick up location and at the castle. Consequently, this all led to a horrible experience for hundreds of people and ruined their entire evening. And for all of this, we are truly, truly sorry.

We have spent the past two days reading each and every email, blog, and Facebook posting, and talking to some of you on the phone and we feel terrible. We are working hard to find a way to show you how sorry we are (while working within Texas alcohol beverage law which severely limits what companies can provide to consumers).

Therefore, in an effort to show how important you are to us, we are planning a special event (think of it as a Most Interesting Apology Party) for all those on the guestlist who had a bad experience and were not able to make it into the castle. Obviously planning the details and logistics of this event will take a little time, so we'll work closely with the promoters to keep you in the loop, and further details will be shared next week. If you would like to attend this event please email the promoter that invited you, and they’ll make sure you get a ticket.

If you have ever attended any of our previous events, you know we always try to give you the best experience possible, and we hope you accept our apology. If there is anything you would like to share, please email me at dosequis@heinekenusa.com.

Sincerely,

Kheri Tillman
