Redefining Time Recap- Rick Osborne and HOUR BAND

Rainy weather greeted us as we drove into Corpus Christi for the REDEFINING TIME art show and concert. Luckily the rain let up a bit as we made our way into the House of Rock to meet up with Austin rockers HOUR BAND. Hour Band had a great set as they debuted for the first time live a full 5 piece ensemble as opposed to the 3-piece it had been in the past.
As Hour Band rocked the main stage, artist Rick Osborne was poised atop the second smaller stage creating a piece of art which was raffled off later in the evening. The active multimedia projections of time lapsed paintings was really interesting and kept viewers intrigued.
Great weekend in the 361 despite all the rain, and our heroic escape back to Austin from floods.

To view more of Rick's work- visit the PRODUCE gallery downtown on Peoples Street, who incidently have a sweet neighboring boutique where they carry art books, streetwear, and a great collection of KAWS vinyl toys.

Rick raffled this amazing piece away to some lucky guest. I love that it looks like the last supper is happening on the flight deck of the death star or something...pretty interesting, and awesome. The piece is 4ftx8ft .
Rick Osborne's use of color is pretty intriguing.

This Osborne piece which was being painted during the show was raffled off as well. The theme of "before the flood" was definitely stirring especially as the city was flooded two days later.

MUGGZY FLOWZ CD RELEASE PARTY-Recap

So a week or so ago, Muggzy Flowz held his CD release party at the 6th street boutique, SOLE FRESCO. Guests enjoyed tons of giveaways, barbecue, drinks, and some of Austin's finest hip hop acts.
We are happy to see and hear Muggzy's first solo debut project "The Boi Who could Fly". The day was hot as the Texas sun can get, but we still had a great time with true heads and friends.

Muggzy is one of those rare MC's that seems to always "go for the throat" when he grabs a microphone. Whether it be his freestyles or writtens, he always seems to have welll thought punchlines and wordplay. Check the video down below if you dont believe me--count the "quotables" , I dare you.

Here's some pics.

Get up, stay up.

H-Town Sneaker Summit

Sunday we ventured into the H for the winter edition of the H-Town Sneaker Summit. This would be our second winter summit showing. We had a good time chopping it up with upcoming brands and past existing ones, It's always good to see so many creative DIY'ers who follow through with their art to create really cool streetwear.
In doing this-it really makes you stop and wonder why so many Texas boutiques will support the same old "hype" brands and consistently look over established artists and brands that rep their own city/state/region....its a shame because we definitely have a lot of great designers.

We are proud at THE FITH GALLERY to show and sell streetwear/urban gear from local and area designers--If you dropped by our booth you either saw or picked up really cool gear by locals including MadGods, Mofoz Visualz, 3rd ID, First and 15th, and Thic Threads. We whole heartedly want to thank all that came by to chat or buy local designs. You will bne the reason that Texas brands will keep it progressive in 2010.

Big Ups to Induce Clothing who we met at this past years KIXPO in Dallas--good dude. We were also impressed by DESIRED HEARTS, GRITS clothing, Simply Complicated Apparel, and Killa Vees Clothing

Highlights of the sneaker show included a dj set by one of our favorite DJ's, Squincy Jones as well as BUN B of UGK hanging out all day at the show taking pictures with anyone that asked him...real cool dude that Bun B; we also enjoyed seeing our homie ZEUS who was doing custom airbrushing.

However, other than that there was definitely a lot less people in attendance and a lot less going on than the last time we were there. Less art, no skateboarding demo, and no b-boy circles that I saw...oh well- we still had a good time seeing some familiar faces and meeting new ones.
Anyways--we were pretty busy at the booth to run around and take a lot of pictures, so here's some pictures from before the show opened.
